When it comes to entry-level streetfighter motorcycles, TVS has positioned itself at the top in this segment. There are now news reports doing rounds on the internet that the Indian brand is coming up with an all-new 220cc streetfighter. This upcoming motorcycle will be named, Apache 220 and it will be the flagship streetfighter in the brand’s lineup.
It will be featuring an aggressive race-inspired design and it will be based on the same platform as its younger siblings. The TVS Apache 220 is expected to launch in India in the second half of 2024. TVS will price this new streetfighter competitively against its rivals. It will lock horns with the likes of the KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar N250, & the upcoming Pulsar NS 220 in the Indian market.
TVS Apache 220 Specifications & Features
This sporty streetfighter will be powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, engine with a high-tech Bosch fuel-injection system. It will rely on a unique oil-air cooling system instead of a liquid cooling mechanism. A report published on Motowag suggests that the TVS Apache 220 is expected to produce up to 24 hp power and 21 Nm torque. A 6-speed transmission will transfer power to the rear wheels. TVS might also equip it with a race-tuned slipper clutch that will help reduce the wear and tear of the transmission.
TVS Apache 220 will come fitted with petal disc brakes on the front as well as the rear wheels. It will also get a dual-channel anti-lock braking system as standard. This streetfighter will come with 17-inch alloy wheels that will run on wide tubeless tyres. Apache 220 will be fitted with a premium upside-down fork at the front end and a mono-shock absorber at the rear end. Its suspension will be fine-tuned to deliver sharp handling without compromising on comfort.
This new 220cc streetfighter from TVS will be equipped with tons of modern features like its siblings. The Apache 220 will come with a stunning LED headlamp with a brand logo-shaped DRL. It will feature a fully digital interactive LCD instrument console with SmarX Connect. Apart from regular information, its speedometer will display turn-by-turn navigation, race telemetry, call/SMS alert, and low fuel warning.
The TVS Apache 220 will also offer the ride to choose between multiple riding modes. Most likely it will come with the sport, urban, and rain riding modes. It will also get ABS with a rear wheel lift-off protection system which offers precise close-loop slip control and stability. The Apache 220 will boast the iconic TVS’ double-barrel exhaust that provides a sporty look and throatier exhaust note.

The upcoming TVS streetfighter will likely carry a competitive price tag just like its smaller 200cc sibling. The price of Apache 220 in India is expected to start at Rs 1.65 Lakh (ex-showroom price). However, the brand has not revealed any details about the prices officially yet.

It will also get a 6-speed transmission that will allow it to deliver a better top-end performance than its smaller sibling. Along with a competitive price tag & slew of new-age features, the TVS Apache 220 will definitely stir up competition in the entry-level streetfighter segment.
